    The Big 4-0!

    I turned 40 last month, but I’m so busy running after a mini-me 24/7 that I didn’t have too much time to think about it. I don’t have too many emotions around birthdays, other than a “thank you thank you I’m still alive” kind of feeling and a “I hope this is not even the half way point” wish. I am happy and healthy and forever grateful to have those two gifts. At 38, having a baby was the most incredible blessing–which is only hitting me as I turn 40.     Race Report: 2018 OC Triathlon/Duathlon

    Here I am! At the FINISH of the OC Duathlon! Woo hoo. I’m not sure what I was thinking when I signed up for an Olympic distance race for my first event back in the multi-sport world. An Olympic distance is twice the distance as a sprint, and I can’t even remember that last time I have done this distance. But I’m happy I did because it motivated me to find time to get back on my bike. I had to get really creative to get some training miles in.     Screenland 5k+ Baby is almost a YEAR

    I completed my 2nd official timed run since Baby Kenzy arrived. This one was a local 5k. There is nothing like an event you can walk to and from & show up 10 minutes before it starts. My only goal was to make 9 minute miles. I set super low goals for myself, which allows for so much pride and congrats to myself when I complete something! I highly recommend it! You are lucky that a 3 mile race report is much shorter than a marathon or triathlon. It was pretty clear mile 1 when I thought, “This is going to be a long run,” that it may have been…
