January: Resolutions Continued…

I wrote a post earlier this month on the idea of outrageous/fun resolutions (instead of the hard boring ones!), so I thought I would update you on things I consider outrageously fun that I did in fact do this month.

1) I tried something new. I went skiing! I have tried a dozen times to snowboard, and while I do make it down the mountain—I definitely wouldn’t consider myself a snowboarder. I thought I would try what Kenzy was trying. We watched a dozen “How to Ski” Youtube videos beforehand. All I really took away from it was “pizza/french fry”—which turns out to be all I needed the first day. I do have to say my experience face-planting multiple times on a snowboard took away any fear that might be there. I was the slowest person going down the mountain, but I did it! The second day, after watching a video called “making turns on skis” I actually got a better understanding of how to move down the mountain. I soaked in those quiet chair lift rides and the thrill of the downhill (bunny hill). I’m happy I tried something new and even happier I have a kid that does not insist on staying all day at the mountain. We are also both into watching snow fall from our AirBnb.

2) I bought some whipped cream for my cold brew. My mornings are so routine at this point that adding whipped cream from a can onto my black cold brew is pure outrageous fun. The noise from the spray can alone is enough to bring a little levity to a Monday morning.

This is it ya’ll! I would love to tell you I ran off to Vegas & hit the slots or I pierced my ears or took a day off to see a double feature…but whoa it’s only January. One step at a time!
